Bungie made a significant modification to how the various subclasses are unlocked since the release of New Light, Destiny 2’s free-to-play version of the game. How to Unlock Light Subclasses in Destiny 2 Beyond Light
Destiny 2 features four distinct subclasses that are shared by all three classes. The light subclasses are based on the game’s three elemental categories, which are Solar, Arc, and Void. At the start of the game, new Titan, Warlock, or Hunter players have access to only one subclass. Titans begin with Sentinel (Solar elemental), Warlocks begin with Dawnblade (Void elemental), and Hunters begin with Arcstrider. (Arc elemental).
Players must complete the New Light campaign, which includes the mission “A Guardian Rises.” The mission takes place largely in Cosmodrome. Once the Tower is unlocked, players must speak with occupants such as Zavala and Ikora Rey and execute a strike known as “The Disgrace” to complete both the “A Guardian Rises” quest and the New Light questline. After speaking with Zavala again, the tasks to unlock the subclasses become available, as does the questline “A Spark of Hope.” The subclass missions do not need players to complete “A Spark of Hope.” Simply holding it should be enough.
Zavala will lead players to Ikora in the Tower, where they will get missions to unlock the remaining Light subclasses. Players will receive two tasks out of three (depending on their class) titled “Riding the Storm,” “Stoking the Flame,” and “Gazing into the Abyss,” which when completed will unlock the Arc, Solar, and Void subclasses. All three subclass objectives demand players to deal some elemental damage (using energy weapons), generate 10 orbs of power, and acquire 25,000 XP.
Any energy weapon’s elemental type is labeled next to the power number. Furthermore, the color orange indicates the Solar type, the color blue represents the Arc type, and the color purple represents the void kind. Killing foes with the super generates Orbs of Power. Completing bounties is a simple way to get XP.
How Many Subclasses in Destiny 2
In Destiny 2, each of the three classes has four subclasses. And these subclasses are shared by any class you choose. This class can be a Titan, Warlock, or Hunter. These four subclasses are further subdivided by two key criteria. The first is the Light subclass, which has three elemental types, and the second is the Dark subclass, Stasis. Returning to light subclasses, below are the elemental types:

How to Unlock Dark Subclass in Destiny 2 2023
Stasis, a Dark subclass introduced in the Beyond Light expansion, is the only one available in Destiny 2. Unlocking the Stasis subclass is a straightforward yet time-consuming operation. To gain access to the Stasis subtype, players must defeat the final boss Eramis. The Stasis subclass is unlocked at step 32 of step 34 of the Beyond Light campaign, which can take between six and seven hours to complete. Once opened, the Stasis subclass appears in the character inventory on the right-hand side of the equipped subclass. At any point, players can switch between the Light and Dark subclasses.
Season 17 Update:
Season 17 overhauled numerous Destiny 2 aspects, including the New Light campaign. It essentially strengthens the game as a whole, with all Guardians having immediate access to it. The New Light quests are a viable path to take for both returning and fresh Guardians.
